DIRECTIONS TO ROBERT ALLERTON PARK AND CONFERENCE CENTER

From the Champaign-Urbana Airport:

1. Turn right to go south on Route 45 after leaving the airport.

2. Follow Route 45 and turn right again onto Monticello Road.

3. Follow the Monticello Road for about 18 miles (you will cross over the interstate) into Monticello. You will be on Washington St.

4. Follow Washington St. until you reach the second stop sign and turn left onto Allerton Road. This takes you out of town. It's about 2 miles to the entrance of Allerton Park and Conference Center. It will be on the right. Watch for the sign, it's easy to miss especially after dark.

From Champaign-Urbana:

If you are staying at a hotel on Interstate 74;

1. Take I74 west to I57.

2. Take the I57 South exit. Follow I57 to the Monticello Road exit;

3. Go west to Monticello. When you get to Monticello, the road becomes Washington St.

Follow Washington St. until you reach the second stop sign and turn left onto Allerton Road. This takes you out of town. It's about 2 miles to the entrance of Allerton Park and Conference Center. It will be on the right. Watch for the sign, it's easy to miss, especially after dark.

From Interstate 72- Exit 164:

1. Turn off the interstate at Monticello Exit 164 onto Bridge St. which will take you into Monticello.

2. Turn right at the first stop sign onto Market Street.

3. Follow Market St. to the stop sign at Marion Street and turn right.

4. Follow Marion St. to the next stop sign and turn left onto Allerton Road. This takes you out of town. It's about 2 miles to the entrance of Allerton Park and Conference Center. It will be on the right. Watch for the sign,it's easy to miss, especially after dark.

From other areas of Illinois:

1. Take Interstate 57 to Champaign.

2. Take Decatur West exit on Interstate 72.

3. You will drive about 25 miles, then follow the above directions from Exit 164.

Country Road Directions from Exit 164.

1. Take exit 164 from I72. Turn left at the end of the exit and stop sign

to go south back over the interstate to the first stop sign (about .5mile).

2. Turn right onto Route 47 (there is a brown Allerton sign nearby).

3. After about a mile watch for another Allerton sign, and as it indicates turn left (south). This is a very rough country road.

4. Follow this road until it becomes a T (about 1 mile).

5. Turn right at the T. There should be another Allerton sign there.

6. After about .5 mile you will turn left in the Allerton entrance road between two large brick pillars. Follow the road about 1.5 miles into the Allerton property.

If you have never tried this route, I do not recommend trying it in the dark, because the brown signs are sometimes missing from year to year and you must watch for deer and potholes.
