Dan Alexander of Parkland College has had a textbook published by Hackworth and Holland. The title is Brief Calculus with Applications. Dan would like to thank Bob Eichen of Illinois Central College and the faculty at Parkland whose reviews and insights contributed to the textbook.

Erich Havenstein of the College of DuPage has been selected by the Illinois Consortium of International Studies Program to teach at Christ Church College in Canterbury, England from January - April 1997.
Marvin Johnson of the College of Lake County will be on sabbatical leave for the Spring semester of 1996. He will study retention and attrition and faculty attitudes towards students.
Barbara Juister, recently retired from Elgin Community College, received the 1995 Award for Distinguished Service to the Illinois Section of Mathematical Association of America (ISMAA).
Terry Popp, third president of IMACC, passed away in late October. Terry was a faculty member at Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts and was 58 years old. Contributions in his memory may be made to the IMACC Scholarship Fund.
Mark Smith has joined the mathematics faculty at Parkland College. Mark attended Illinois Central College and has a bachelors degree from Bradley University and a Masters degree from Purdue University.
The College of Du Page, the College of Lake County and Parkland College will all be sites for the 1996 ICTM Mathematics Contest. The competition will take place on February 24, 1996.
